Hair transplant mistake!

First of all, I’m very happy with my hair transplant! But there is something I would do differently if I had the chance…

When I had my consultation in the clinic I was very excited. But also very nervous. I am the type of person that is quite impulsive and when something is on my mind, I will do it. Like what happened with my hair transplant.

Research

I have done some research about Hair transplant on the internet but couldn’t find a lot of articles or information about hair transplant for women.

However, the procedure works in the same way for men as for women. So, I had a pretty general idea about the procedure itself.

But regarding deciding on the hairline, I never really thought about it too much.

Forehead muscles

In the morning I had my consultation with the doctor. She looked at my hairline and how much it could be lowered. It can only be as low as the muscles in your forehead “allow it”. Meaning, you can’t implant hair follicles on the area with active muscles in your forehead.

How do you know how low your hairline can be? Raise your eyebrows, look surprised. See the lines in your forehead? Those are your muscles working out. Just above the top muscle you could implant hairs, but not on the lines.

"I was too excited!"

During the consultation I was nervous but also very, very happy! I was very talkative with everyone at the clinic. After the doctor drew a white line on my forehead, she gave me a mirror to take a look. I remember I just had a quick glance at it, while I felt the doctor and 2 assistants looking at me. Just after that quick glance I immediately said “yes, it’s beautiful – let’s do it!”.

My advice to you

Thinking back to that moment now, I feel like I should have taken the time more to really look at it more carefully. I felt slightly rushed and was experiencing some pressure maybe because of the people in the room. But you know what? You pay a lot of money for it and you should “design” your hairline the way you want!

So, my advice to you would be to really take your time, don’t feel rushed and really look at it carefully from different angles.
